Every year Pantone forecasts the hottest color trends for the year ahead for clothing and textiles, accessories, home decor, make-up, paint and more.
The colors they predict will be the most seen, most used, and most loved colors for the year! In addition to selecting a palette of multiple colors, they select one color that will be the trendiest color of the year. This year was another bold choice, following 2011′s Honeysuckle – the 2012 color of the year is Tangerine!

Last year’s color of the year Honeysuckle, was a bright, positive and upbeat color that encouraged us to face the economic and political troubles of the world with a fresh perspective and a renewed sense of encouragement. This year’s Tangerine Tango continues to urge us to do the same with an energy boost needed to recharge and move forward.

As such a dramatic hue, tangerine can be an intimidating color to introduce to your home or decor. The key is to use the pop of energy that this color emits in a way that accents and highlights your home, without overwhelming it.
